Why or why not?Toxic leaders cannot be ethical. The very definition of toxic is something that is poisonous; an environment in which ethical standards or principles cannot thrive. Further, toxic leaders can take on Johnson (2013) definition of \"unhealthy shadow casters\" (p. 119). Levine and Boaks (2014) state that \"ethics lies at the heart of leadership studies\" (p. 227).Consequently, if a leader spews toxicity at his or her followers, the followers might become resentful, bitter, or revengeful. It is highly unlikely that this atmosphere will promote loyalty or long-lasting relationships with followers. Further, decisions made by toxic leaders can lead to the loss of credibility and reputation of the organization which, in some instances, cannot be easily repaired.Reference Johnson, C. E. (2013).
