(a) Convert the calculated mole fraction of naphthalene dissolved in toluene from Example 7.10 into molarity, assuming that the volumes are strictly additive. The density of toluene is 0.866 g/mL and the density of naphthalene is 1.025 g/mL. (b) Estimate the solubility, in g/100 mL and molarity, of naphthalene in n-decane, C10H22, which has a density of 0.730 g/mL.

Example 7.10

Calculate the solubility of solid naphthalene, C10H8, in liquid toluene, C6H5CH3, at 25.0째C if the enthalpy of fusion of naphthalene is 19.123 kJ/mol and its melting point is 78.2째C.
