Assignment 15: Final Paper Summarizing Plans for Existing QI Issue

Overview

This week, you have the opportunity to use the individual organizational applications generated during class to support the problem resolution you will propose in this week\'s final paper. Your paper should reflect a broad understanding of the variety of QI approaches, the quantitative approaches to gathering and analyzing data, and how to recognize and overcome the internal and external barriers to successful resolution.

• Open a word document and make sure you have your name and \"Assignment 15\" indicated at the top.
• Prepare a final paper summarizing your plan for addressing an existing QI issue in your organization. Thus, being thorough, yet concise, is critical. Examples from both course content and the organization should be included. References should be cited using the APA Edition 6 guidelines.
• In your paper, address the following items:
  • Identify the problem.
  • Discuss the problem in the context of assigned readings from The Checklist Manifesto and other course resources. How do you know that you are addressing the real problem and not a symptom of the problem?
  • Identify the current QI approach most suitable to solving the problem. Discuss why this approach was selected and why you believe it will work.
  • How was the QI approach you selected influenced by the historical evolution of quality?
  • What challenges do you face, both internally and externally, with resolving this problem? How do you intend to address them?
  • What data do you intend to collect? What analysis will you use?
  • Discuss why you believe the approach you have selected will work. What alternatives might you consider?
  • Describe your plan for implementing your approach to problem resolution. Include timelines.
